Amazing gifts...

So, do you ever just sit back and feel overwhelmed at how sweet God is to you by his amazing surprises and gifts...totally unexpected and totally awesome?? Well, tonight was one of those nights for me. We, my gorgeous honey and I, went to a hilarious night of comedy watching Tim Hawkins (Christian comedian) with four amazing friends, Kevin & Diane and Dennis & Cyndi. We rode up to Sacramento, about 1 1/2 hours away (not so with the crazy traffic tonight...thanks Kevin for the great ride...). We grabbed a quick dinner after the drive up and then headed over to Bayside Church to watch Tim Hawkins...the parking lot was already packed and the seating super limited since we had gotten bogged down in traffic on the way there. Amazingly, my sweet honey found six seats together for all of us (totally amazing man, as always).

We spent the next two hours laughing non-stop and laughing as we listened to each other laugh. I don't remember laughing that hard for so long in awhile...too fun!! It was a blast as we left talking about the funny things that made each of us crack up during the performance... and then we headed to Cheesecake Factory for dessert so we could all spend more time together...thank you Dennis and Cyndi!!

We spent time laughing and sharing the cool things God is all about in our lives over coffee and sweet yummies...and there it was - feeling like I was home. Feeling like God had given me what I had longed for until I was parched for the longing of it- feeling like I couldn't believe what a gift I've been given with these amazing friends of mine! Friends who love Jesus as passionately as I do, friends who really are family, friends who are just amazing!! Friends who we can't begin to hang out with enough!!!! Yes, I have some of those already, but these friends were one of those unexpected, over the top, whipped cream w/a cherry on top, only God can give you, missing puzzle piece found gifts!!

So, once again I see the powerful orchestration of God's blessings in my life when we surrender to His plans and not our own...even when we wonder what He's doing, or if His plan really is the best...it is! It reminds me of Psalm 23..."that goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives!" A picture that is depicted well that my sweet husband describes, where it's like two puppies who follow at your heels, nipping at your feet, w/an unrelenting pursuit...that really is the picture that God is painting here. His goodness and mercy can't help but follow us, pursue us, overwhelm us when we follow after Him...how beautiful is that and how grateful I am!!
