Today I've been on my Daniel Fast for a week...I don't know if you've gone on a Daniel fast (Biblically based diet as followed by Daniel, in the book of Daniel in the Bible, where you eat fruits/veggies/nuts/whole grain and restrain from meats/dairy/processed foods, etc), but I have to say that I love it - all of it - okay, most of it. Yes, my carb-aholic tendencies have to be addressed straight on, but that's good! It continually brings my focus back to Him and why I'm fasting in the first place. Daniel Plan click here
In this season, I need to focus - to really key in to what the Lord is saying to me and what areas in my life need adjustment. Believe me there are plenty...from my diet, to my disciplines, to my attitudes and more...Not to mention fasting prayer for my family, ministry, my work, my business, etc...
The day I started my fast or maybe the day before, I came across this journal with a quote on the front that spoke to me & what God had been speaking to me about...
How many times do we keep speaking negatively over what we can do and where we can go? If God has called us to it, won't He provide the way? As my hubby always says, we are asking the wrong questions. We shouldn't focus on the how questions, but the why questions. If we're doing it because God's called us too (why's)...he will work out the how's.... (very basic explanation)
This quote challenged me further to what God has been speaking to me about. About stopping, resting, pursuing in the Spirit all that God has for me and settling for nothing less. Hell's plan is to rob us from what God has by lying to us, discouraging us, telling us we can't do it...that we're not good enough and so on...surprise, surprise, he attacks our identity - our identity in Christ. Once again we have to rise up and say NO! We have to get up every day, put on our armor and fight! It's not in our strength, it's in HIS! He is faithful to carry us through.
